Conference Overview

This two‑day international conference brings together leading scholars, educators, and practitioners for critical dialogue on anti‑racist, justice‑centered approaches in Romani Studies and related fields. The program foregrounds the interconnected roles of culture, identity, and social justice in challenging structural racism, while amplifying emancipatory scholarship and advocacy for Romani communities and other racialized groups. Drawing on interdisciplinary perspectives from education, social sciences, human rights, and cultural studies, the conference aims to promote inclusive and participatory knowledge production and to collectively rethink the future of anti‑racist research, pedagogy, and policy in Europe and beyond. The conference is organized as part of Khamoro, the world’s largest Roma cultural festival, offering participants the opportunity to engage in academic discussions alongside a vibrant program of cultural events, performances, and community activities.
