Ann Ostendorf

is the Head of the International Advisory Board. She is Professor of History at Gonzaga University in the United States. Her scholarship explores issues of identity, race, and culture in early America and her current research considers the histories of the Romani diaspora throughout the imperial Atlantic world. She is author of Sounds American (University of Georgia Press, 2011) with Romani-related articles appearing in Romani Studies, Early American Studies, Romano Dzaniben, Critical Romani Studies, Frühneuzeit-Info, Maryland Historical Magazine, and Journal of Gypsy Studies. Her co-edited collection, The Romani Atlantic, will be published with Cambridge University Press next year. She is working on as a manuscript tentatively titled Romani Americans: Making Atlantic Empires, Races and Nations. She has also been involved with the Romani Memory of the Americas project through the United Nations Human Rights Office.
