The Prague 6 Municipal District, in partnership with the Prague Center for Romani Histories at the Faculty of Arts at Charles University, and the Museum of Romani Culture in Brno, cordially invites you to a memorial ceremony honoring the Roma and Sinti victims of the Holocaust.
On Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at 3 p.m., we will commemorate the 83rd anniversary of the transport of Roma and Sinti from Ruzyně to the Auschwitz II-Birkenau concentration and extermination camp in the park near Staré náměstí (Old Square) in Prague-Ruzyně.
Attached is the official invitation in Czech.
In commemoration of the events of March 1943, we would like to introduce the unique database entitled "Roma and Sinti Testimonies: World War II Through the Eyes of Roma and Sinti from the Czech Lands and Slovakia" (https://www.romatestimonies.org/en).
The database contains the only known eyewitness account of the internment of Roma in the forced labor camp in Prague-Ruzyně: Karolína Kozáková-Vdolečková (née Růžičková)'s testimony. Her testimony is an extremely valuable and unique historical source.
